Terms and Conditions

Privacy

Contact details including telephone numbers, addresses and email addresses of customers are always kept entirely confidential, as are personal photographs mailed or emailed to me. Nor do I contact past customers with any marketing material. I never sell or pass on any customer information to anybody, whether you end up commissioning a portrait or not. If you decide not to go ahead I won’t keep your details on record and will not contact you.

If you do commission a portrait I will keep a scan of your finished artwork on file in case you ever want to order another portrait or an extra print. However you can let me know if you’d rather I didn’t do this. Personal photos will be kept extremely secure and will be deleted once your portrait is complete. You can review the privacy policy here.

Copyright

The artist retains full copyright on all artwork that is produced, including mock-ups and prints. This means I can create prints and calendars etc. using the image of the artwork created. When a portrait is commissioned, I reserve the right to display it on my website and on my social media pages. Clients who do not wish their commissioned portrait to be shown online must notify me before work commences. The client does not have the right to sell copies of the work in any way without permission from the artist.

Reference photo

The photographs provided for reference images must have been taken by the client, or permission for their use obtained by the client from the person who took them. If the project is to be a gift, the client accepts responsibility for sourcing and using images. By sending me reference photos you grant me permission to use them in my publicity and advertising media (such as showing a comparison between the reference photo and the final artwork).

Quotes

Each commission is different so the prices on the website are only there as a guide. Once I understand your particular requirements, I will be able to give you a more accurate quote. The quote will be valid for 30 days, although if you alter some aspect of the brief or the commission changes in some way, I may need to update the quote. I will always let you know if any of the changes you want will have an effect on the overall cost of the commission.

Payment

To secure your booking, I ask for a 50% deposit.  This is non-refundable after I have started work on your portrait.

However, if you cancel within 5 days of your order and I haven't started yet, I will be happy to refund the deposit.

Refunds/ Returns

Under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), you have a 14 day cooling off period during which you can change your mind.  This applies to the Prints in the Shop, but not for personalised items such as Portrait commissions.  You are entitled to a refund within 14 days of cancellation.

Shipping

All artwork is carefully packaged before shipping to make sure it arrives in perfect condition.

All portraits and prints have free shipping within Ireland.
